Running Road Calls
A road call is a job you do at the customer's boat β at their home, a campground or a storage lot. MarineOps books it, sends the tech with directions, keeps the customer posted, and lets the tech finish and get paid right there.
Set up road calls once
Under Settings β Shop Config β Road Calls:
- Tech starting point β your shop address, or each tech's home address.
- Routing mode β run calls in the order you set, or let Google plan the order.
- Travel fee β none, a flat fee per call, tiered by engine hours, or per mile; and whether engine hours is figured from the shop or from the last stop.
Save frequent locations β boat parks, campgrounds, storage yards β under Settings β Saved Locations so you can pick them instead of typing addresses.
Book a road call
- Create a repair order and choose π Road Call, or book a Road Call appointment from the schedule.
- Enter the service address β and the site or space number at a campground.
- Pick the date, time and tech.
Dispatch
On Schedule β πΊοΈ Dispatch you'll see today's road calls by tech and any coaches waiting for dispatch. Dispatching a call puts it on the tech's My Route and emails the customer that they're scheduled.
On the road: My Route in the tech app
The tech opens My Route in the tech app and sees today's calls in order. Each call moves through:
| Tech taps | What happens |
|---|---|
| En Route | Maps opens with directions, and the customer gets an "on the way" email |
| On Site | The office sees the tech has arrived |
| Complete | The job is done β the Job Complete screen opens |
From Job Complete, the tech can view the work order, π³ Collect Payment right there (Tap to Pay through Square), or π§ Send Invoice Link so the customer pays online later.
